Meet Ursula

For many in the Class of 2021, our Jobs for North Carolina’s Graduates (JNCG) program was the support system they needed to thrive and pursue their dreams. JNCG College & Career Coach Virginia Haynes was that support for Ursula.

Ursula works a part-time job to support her two-year-old son. She struggled to keep up with her schoolwork and stay on track to graduate.

Virginia provided emotional support to Ursula, delivered food for her family, and helped her stay engaged with online learning throughout COVID-19. 

Thanks to Virginia’s support, Ursula graduated high school this spring! After graduation, she will begin work as a CNA and start coursework towards a Registered Nurse certificate.
