Noah, now a 6th grader, was referred to his CIS Specialist, Ashley, because he struggled with basic comprehension and had speech issues and trouble connecting with his peers.
Noah struggled during COVID-19 remote learning. Ashley checked in on him via Zoom and text to help him stay engaged and on track. She helped connect Noah with the social-emotional and academic support he needed to succeed.
Ashley worked with Noah to help him process his feelings around his speech challenges, better socialize with his peers and focus on schoolwork. Ashley also used mindfulness techniques and the “Zones of Regulation” to help Noah work through his experiences in a positive way.
Thanks to the supports he received from Ashely and CISNC, Noah entered middle school as a more confident young man!
