Meet DeOntae

DeOntae was released from a Youth Detention Center (YDC) prior to COVID-19. While in the YDC, he struggled with focusing on school. He felt defeated and was unable to pass any of the GED tests. Then he met his Youth Success Coach, Jasmine, and enrolled in a GED program at Britten Academy in Guilford County. Jasmine explained to him that he would have 5-6 weeks to complete his GED course & pass the exam. DeOntae was determined to succeed and, with Jasmine’s help, he buckled down to study. He even reached out to Jasmine via FaceTime for help with practice tests & assignments. After much hard work, DeOntae passed his exam & obtained his GED!
