DEI Session 3: DEI Lunch & Learn: How to Support MENA and Refugee Families through CIS

Description
Gain an understanding of the complex situations that refugee families face fleeing their homes and transitioning to new cultures and environments. Using Afghan peoples as an example of the most recent influx of refugees, we will explore cultural and religious backgrounds and provide best practices through experience.
This workshop will be led by a panel of staff from Dearborn, Michigan, who include: Patrice Wright Student Support Coordinator at Edsel Ford High School (Dearborn), Amal Qayed Student Support Coordinator at Salina Elementary and Intermediate Schools (Dearborn), and Hassan Ozeir Program Manager for Organizational Health.
